Put together a camping or woodland themed kids table that invites them to stay and have fun. I have two really quick and easy ideas for you.

Option 1: Campfire Themed

I was so happy with the way this camping themed table came together! The key elements are: Personalized Camping Coloring Table Runner, miniature tent, bottlebrush trees, campfire snacks, and crayons.

Miniature Tent:

I knew I wanted a little tent for the crayons but I just couldn’t find one I liked. The solution was so easy! To make this tent you need:

• 3 6×6″ pieces of cardboard (I used flaps from a box I had laying around)
• 1 large sheet of craft paper, about 18.5″ x 18″ (wrapping paper would work too)
• Scotch tape
• glue dots (optional)

Tape the 3 pieces of cardboard together to make a triangle. Wrap the triangle down the center of the craft paper, leaving 6″ of paper at both openings for your tent flaps.

To make the tent flaps, cut in at each corner, making three flaps. Fold one flap inside the tent and tape it down, this is the floor of the tent. Fold the other two flaps over the opening and trim them up the center to the pitch of the tent — so you have two tent flaps that meet in the center. Gently fold the flaps outward, without creasing, and secure with tape (I used glue dots).

For the back of the tent: Cut in at each corner, making three flaps. Fold the bottom flap into the tent and tape it down — this is the floor. Fold the other two flaps across the opening to completely cover it. Trim around the edges to fit the shape of the tent and tape neatly.

Alternately, you can choose to make the back of the tent the same as the front, with an open doorway to retrieve crayons through.

Campfire Snacks:

You’ll need:

• 8 oz Craft paper snack cups
• Red, orange, and yellow tissue paper
• S’mores snack mix (see below)

I didn’t measure my tissue paper. Sorry! I cut squares about 9×9″ (give or take an inch or two) in each color. Make a stack with one sheet of each color, with each turned at a different angle. Center the stack over your cup and either press it in with your fist use another snack cup to push it in (so easy, but be careful not to tear the paper).

Initially I had envisioned stacks of s’mores on the table, but I just kept thinking about how messy and sticky they are. So my mess-free solution is a simple mix that’s completely addictive (and the bear crackers are PERFECT for this theme). To make the S’mores snack mix you’ll need:

• 1 10 oz box of Teddy Grahams
• 1 10 oz bag miniature marshmallows
• 1 11 oz bag Guittard Milk Chocolate Chips (my favorite)

Combine the crackers, marshmallows, and chocolate chips in a large bowl. Dish into campfire cups. SO EASY!!! And I still have a ziplock filled with this sitting on my desk, I cannot stop snacking on it.

Option 2: Lumberjack Themed

 

The key elements for this simple lumberjack theme are: Woodland Coloring Table Runner, buffalo-check cups, pinecones, crayons.

All you’ll need are 8 oz white paper snack cups, this FREE printable wrap, and scotch tape. Print, cut, wrap, stick. There will be a little extra paper around the bottom, just fold it under the cup.
